St. Nicholas Day

My husband’s family has a very strong German heritage. There’s quite a bit of German blood in my family tree, but my most recent German ancestors came to the US in the mid-1700s. Although that side of my family has retained a lot of stoic ‘German-ness’, a lot of those traditions were lost.  I’ve really enjoyed learning about the German traditions that his family celebrates this time of year. One of my favorites, is the tradition of celebrating St. Nicholas Day!

So this morning, we opened our St. Nicholas Day stockings. Mine, much to my pleasant surprise, was full of assorted tea K-cups!!!! 😀

I hope you all have had a wonderful St. Nicholas day. I hope that it has been full of warmth, and that this season finds you with a giving and gracious spirit!
